Visit the FOB

Come for a brew.
Stay for the company.

Everything you need to take that first step through the door.

Your first visit.

You’ll find people sitting together, chatting over tea and coffee. Start by saying hello and letting someone know it’s your first time. You can join a conversation or take a little time to settle in.

You don’t need to be struggling to come along, and you don’t have to discuss your service or personal circumstances.

Find the hall.

We meet at Leigh Masonic Hall, 61 Ellesmere Street, Leigh, WN7 4LQ. This is our meeting place, not the CIC’s registered office.

Say hello.

Let someone know you’ve come for the FOB coffee morning. Bringing a partner, family member or friend is welcome.

Take it at your own pace.

Have a brew, find a seat and see how you feel. If there’s something you need help with, you can ask about it when you’re ready.

Useful things to know.

Who can attend?

Veterans, serving personnel, reservists, their families and the wider service community. You do not need to have served in a conflict.

Do I need to book?

The published information describes a weekly coffee morning. Booking arrangements and any contribution towards refreshments are awaiting confirmation. Speak to a member of the team if you have a question before attending.

When are the coffee mornings?

The group’s published schedule is Tuesday, 11am to 1pm. Check for any changes before a special journey, particularly around holidays. Confirmed changes will be added to the News & Events page.

Is the venue accessible?

Step-free access, accessible toilets and parking arrangements have not yet been confirmed for this website. Please check with the venue or a member of the FOB team before travelling if these are important for your visit.

What if I only want some company?

That is a good reason to come. A coffee morning can simply be a coffee morning. There is no expectation to ask for help or share a personal story.
